Professor Olufemiwa Niyi MAKINDE
My name is Olufemiwa Niyi MAKINDE.
Graduated with B.Sc (Hons)(1978), and MB.Ch.B.(1981) from University of Ife, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. I am a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons ( FWACS). I joined the services of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1994 and by dint of hard work was promoted to the grade of Professor 1st October 2013.
I am a teacher and a researcher in clinical Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Perinatology with forays in to gender-based issues. Over the years, I have trained and mentored along with others over 3,000 undergraduates and over 40 postgraduate students, three of whom are professors in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.I have over 50 publications in international and national journals. I have co-facilitated training workshops and other educational activities on gender, sexual and reproductive health for universities. I am happily married and Blessed with Children and grandchildren.
